We had a great time at Patty & Steve’s wedding. The ceremony was at the beautiful Saint Paul’s Church in Princeton. It was a rainy day and but that didn’t slow anyone down. Bert and I got there early in order to check the location and scope out any photo opportunities for later. The ceremony was very sweet and many family members participated. From singing to scripture readings, and even a guitar performance by one couple’s sons.
The reception was help at Chauncey Conf Center a short drive away. By this time the rain was really coming down. We got drenched just walking from the parking lot to the building. Once there cocktail hour started and people mingled and had enjoyed themselves. Since shooting outdoors was out of the question we had to focus on trying to get some family wedding portraits. The staff at the Chauncey suggested a space near a fireplace. It was a big tight for portraits so we found that the entrance was our best shot. We had some natural light. There was foliage in the background and the lines of the building gave it a nice look. We were able to get all the shots within a very short time.
At this point we all went back inside and within the hour we entered the main diner area. We met the DJ a pleasant fellow with many years in the industry. We covered the Entrance, First dance, speeches and lots of dancing and partying. Our day ended as always with the Cake cutting. We loaded all our gear into our cases and called it a night!
We want to thank Patty & Steve for being so gracious and having us document their special day!
